On recent evenings I did the 10-minute walk to local playing fields to try to see the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. I was clouded out every time, including trudging home in the rain on more than one occasion. Anyway, last night (Dec 20) was clearer and as I stood in the mud I got a good view of the gas giants and took some telephoto shots.

I had to wait a while for a large dark cloud to move out of the way; of course, all the surrounding sky was clear. It was worth the wait.
