About this image

Not often I take lunar images, and definitely not with the old CCD on my 14" scope - but scope freshly collimated with moon v. high in the sky (due south at 74 deg altitude) it gives a good view at a good stage in the lunar month. Shame I hadn't got quite enough of the eastern side of Mare Imbrium...

[Details: 2 frame mosaic, each frame 25x80ms exposure; drizzle integration (2X and then downsampled to 1.5X) as undersampled. SBIG ST2000XM+red filter at -20C, 350mm f4.53 newtonian (1582mm FL). Processing with AutoStakkert3, Registax6, Pixinsight 1.8 and Photoshop CS4].
