About this image

I had photographed this galaxy last year, but I wanted to give it another go now that I have guiding! I am still learning so much, probably the biggest thins that I learned from this is that my mount desperately needs a service and tune! PHD2 was going mad trying to keep it on target. :-) I had polar aligned with SharpCap, so I am reasonably confident that this isn't the issue. I also double checked that he mount was level.

I now use NINA to centre the target, and then sequence the shots.

I processed the 60x images (I still had to discard about 8 or 9), in DSS and then Photoshop. Light pollution is a still a big issue, even in what is supposed to be Bortel 4.5 skies! Light Pollution filter (looking at Astronomik CLS CCD) and filter holder are on my birthday list.

Comments, criticism and advice always welcome, I'm still learning.
