About this image

Myself and a fellow Crayford AS member stopped by our local usual high spot to try and image Mercury and Venus but alas the haze on the horizon meant Mercury never became visible. The ISS made a low pass and we managed to see that and then we looked North with hopes of spotting NLC's. It is early in the season but social media had mentioned that they had been seen in Germany. We got lucky but they were only visible to our cameras. This photo is the best of a dozen I took which just shows the NLC's above the orange haze over London. Sandra, the head of the BAA Aurora & NLC section, confirmed the NLC's were present over the UK and at the time this photo was taken.
