About this image

It was a typical UK eclipse. The bright morning promised the chance of seeing this partial eclipse, and from teatime the Sun was blazing in a blue sky. However, for much of the event the Sun was hiding behind a blanket of cloud. Occasionally this would thin, allowing a sighting with a mylar eclipse viewer.

This image was taken with the 5-inch Taylor Mak during a short-lived period of clear sky.
