About this image

The last time I saw this object was just before 10pm on the night of 2021 February 28 when my NW meteor camera in Chelmsford picked up a bright, nearly head-on fireball. Jim Rowe has written up the background  to the meteorite recovery in the June Journal but here is a chunk on it, in an inert atmosphere, on display that the Natural History Museum in London. It was quite a strange feeling being so close to something that one of my cameras had recorded. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. You need to book a timed entry ticket but all of the London museums and galleries are fantastically quiet at the moment. Don't miss this opportunity!
