About this image

The weather forecast implied there might be a window between 10pm and midnight to get in some observing of Saturn near its opposition last night. While the predictions were for only average seeing, it appeared to be a bit better than that to me, maybe 7/10, with variable transparency as high, thin cirrus clouds came and went. Not sure if I managed to nab the “Seeliger Effect” or not since this was almost a day past opposition, but the B ring seems brighter than normal (of course it usually is brighter, but this seems perhaps a bit more so). Regardless, was well worth losing some worknight sleep to catch Saturn during decent seeing conditions!
