About this image

Having done battle with the pandemic travel requirements, we eventually made it to France where I could try out the new obsy. The Ritchey Chretien scope had been in storage and required some TLC to coax into action... Although I had taken  'snaps' of M31 and M33 on a refractor last year to test things out, I considered this 'First Light' proper.

I was also using a CMOS camera (ASI1600) rather than the Atik460 for imaging for the first time. I wanted the best dynamic range so set the 'gain' to zero. Total integration tme was 2hr 45min
