About this image

This is a supplementary image to my image of the Skull Nebula. In this version of the image, I constructed a further luminance layer by stretching the luminance data only modestly to preserve the shapes of the star images and to prevent blooming. I then sharpened the image a little using Topaz Sharpen AI.

The orange dwarf companion to the primary blue-white central star is now visible.

I'm just astonished at just how good the QSI 683 camera is at capturing star colours.
