About this image

Been meaning to image this bright supernova for weeks, but Siding Spring has been cloudy for weeks. At Dec -55 it's not a target for N. Hem observers!

Skies finally cleared today...after about 10 failed reservations!

Hi Martin,  nice image of this galaxy + SN.  Have you noticed a dark halo around the SN itself? I'm assuming it is a processing artifact rather than real. The image from SIMBAD (via https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2021aefx) doesn't show anything unusual at the location of the SN.

Yes, it was an artefact due to having such a bright star on top of the galaxy and my rushed over-processing! I've reworked the image with a milder treatment.
