Title

Venus 9th and 10th December

About this image

My short window on Venus has grown from 20minutes to 1hour 15minutes as Venus is now slightly higher.  Venus was imaged on two successive afternoons in completely different conditions. 9th had thin high cloud occasionally too thick for imaging but the higher wavelength IR filters could see Venus clearly most of the time.   10th was clear but occasional gusts of wind and the clear skies allowed me to use the UVenus filter as well as IR filters.  The over-exposed image with ghosting confirms that the 290MM with glass window on it definitely causes ghosting images and won't be suitable for nightside detection.  I will try again with the glass window removed just in case that reduces ghosting on the next occasion possible.
