VdB141 - The Ghost Nebula

About this image

A wide field view of the Ghost Nebula (vdB 141) in Cepheus. This is a reflection nebula with embedded stars that give the nebula its yellow/brown colour.

There is plenty of other fainter nebulae in the field, including some molecular clouds (eg PGCC G104.85+13.13 and PGCC G104.40+12.96 to the south (left) - both catalogued in the Planck Catalogue of Galactic Cold Clumps (PGCC)). There are very few galaxies visible, but there is one toward the centre middle - PGC/LEDA 5061109.

Taken from EEYE in Aug/Sept 2021 - acquisition: P Tribe/G Coates; processing: G Coates
