About this image

Only the second capture of my cometary apprenticeship. Still not yet got the " feel" for the right exposure range, but that must come with time. And not yet got to grips with the individual stacking of stars and comet. As a mark of inexperience, I failed to appreciate just how much the comet would move from frame to frame. I must admit to a gasp of excitement at seeing this image materialise from the stacking process!

Ron - Comets are great fun to image since you never quite know what you will find. Most of the brighter ones are moving relatively fast relative to the stars which makes the job more challenging. What software are you using to do your stacking?

I am using Deep Sky Stacker. Any difficulties so far have been self-inflicted.  I eagerly anticipate getting onto its learning curve plateau. My yield rate at the moment is only 12% capture is stacked.
