About this image

NGC 4151 is an interesting spiral Seyfert galaxy, magnitude +11.44, with weak inner ring structure. It is one of the nearest galaxies to Earth which contains an actively growing supermassive black hole at its centre. Some astronomers have nicknamed it the "Eye of Sauron" for its appearance.
