Rather a shame that the new plaque is less, rather than more, informative than the old one.

I understand why they revised the wording, but the astronomical details are now quite terse.

A pity they left out his election to the Royal Society at the age of 21, surely worth a mention.

Still, nobody has linked him to the slave trade - yet.
