About this image

5-Hours of total integration taken on the nights of 18th and 20th April 2022.

The spiral galaxy NGC4402 is at top-right and seen edge-on to us.  The barred lenticular galaxy NGC4435 (top-left) and galaxy NGC 4438 (bottom left) are gravitationally interacting resulting in the distortion of NGC4438 and potential starburst activity in NGC4435.  There is also evidence of a tidal stream of stars from NGC4438 having been drawn to the elliptical M86.  For this reason I set the field of view to include M86 in the image.  An intergalactic glow of material between M86 and the NGC4435/38 pair is clear.
