About this image

I think of M104 as being quite a challenging target from UK latitudes as it doesn't rise higher than 26 deg at my location and is not in view for very long. Resolving detail in the dust lane needs lots of data captured in calm seeing, with good guiding and careful processing. My previous attempt at M104 gave me just a mono image from very few good sub-frames. I was luckier with this attempt.
