About this image

Whilst imaging NGC 4147, I also captured the asteroid 1329 Eliane. You can see that during the 45 2-minute exposures, the asteroid moves against the background of stars and reveals itself with a trail of red, green and blue dashes.

Elaine is named after the daughter of the astronomer, Paul Bourgeois.

Nice to see images of asteroids occasionally. Many people seem to concentrate on Messier and NGC objects.  ;-)
