About this image

Latest image of Gyulbudaghian's nebula taken remotely with iTelescope T21 in New Mexico.  The nebula has faded even further since my previous image on 7th May.

The field is 33 x 49 arc minutes with north up and is at 50% original size.

Note: The image is a combination of 5 exposures on 27th and another 5 on 31st May.  On the intervening 3 nights (mornings) the "roof was closed"...so remote imaging isn't always under perfect observing conditions...

Update: Image now a combination of 14 x 180 seconds after another imaging run at 09:00UT on 1st June.  Only 4 of the 5 images requested taken...another issue with remote observing!

Hell! There really is stuff all nebula to be seen at the moment - but, it would be nice to get a clear night here to try anything on... :)

Sometimes images of nothing are just as interesting as images of something.  This is a long slow fade over 6 months (so far) but less dramatic than the complete fade in 2020 from August to December.
