About this image

Abell 78 is an unusual planetary nebula 5,000 light years away in the constellation Cygnus. It is unusual in that after exhausting its hydrogen fuel it re-ignited by burning helium. This is the cause of the inner filaments. It is faint and small - just 2 arc minutes in diameter.
Image captured on my remote dual rig at Fregenal de la Sierra in Spain between 13-29 May 2022.
