About this image

An early-morning session on Mercury before leaving for work. The planet was at about 28 degrees altitude, and located by offsetting from Venus rather than the Sun. Transparency was good, seeing average, but occasionally good, until it degraded after the Sun rose over the roof and hit the telescope. The data were good enough to allow processing purely in software (PIPP and Registax) without manual frame selection. The albedo features present are in good agreement with the blurred WinJupos image.

Nice image Chris. I think videos 10 to 20 give the best result and clearly match features in the reference image. Imaging on a warm Summer's morning is great!
