About this image

Just a test run with the camera looking to see what combination worked okay. Probably the 15s was best but the stars are quite distorted near the image edges at f1.8. I will rerun at 30s exposure 1600IS f2.8 and take about 30 shots.

For the test I mainly used jpgs, but I will use cr2s for the second attempt.

Post processing was: alignment, additive stacking, simple background gradient correction, cropping, white balance and then 3 runs with an adaptive filter the outputs from which I coadded. Oh, and a slight tweak of the histogram. All done in AstroArt8.

I got a tolerable view for a test run.
