About this image

This is one of a number of images taken in Ca II K, H alpha and white light of the solar disk as well as current active regions 3055, 3052 and 3053, and 3051 and 3046. It was the first cloud free day from Melbourne since July 5, however seeing was still reduced by v. high cloud. Images captured using Firecapture, best 20% of 2000 stacked using AutoStakkert!3, wavelet sharpened in RegiStax6, and coloured in photoshop.
