About this image

This comet was discovered by the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) on March 2. At the time it was an 17th magnitude asteroidal object. It is well placed for observation from the UK and has been brightening quite rapidly. It is currently 13th magnitude and has a nice tail to the south east. It comes to perihelion in January next year and makes a relatively close approach to the Earth on February 1 when it might reach 6th magnitude as it rushes across the sky near the pole. Definitely one to watch.
