About this image

We're still a few days away from Perseid maximum which is expected to occur at about 01:00 UT on August 12/13, yet the skies are quite busy with meteors. My video cameras are capturing good numbers of them now that the nightly clouds are moving away.

This is an image of a mag -1.2 Perseid recorded on my SW-facing camera UK000U. Most Perseids are fainter than this, although this week there's many nice mag 0 and mag 1 meteors if you have a good sky. Let's hope for more bright Perseids when their maximum will coincide with a Full Moon
