About this image

This region of the sky is awash with HII regions (emission nebulae of ionised Hydrogen). When a 'knot' of sufficiently high density is found, it appears to be given a name... this one is no exception. It is also a catalogue aficianado's delight. Often going  by the designation DWB111 (Dicke, Wendker and Bieritz listing) it also contains DWB119. However, it is also designated as number 57 in the Simeis catalogue (see http://cosmicneighbors.net/propellor.htm).

I used narrowband Ha and OIII (100mins and 85mins respectively) but the OIII signal in the nebulosity was poor. It's in there, and allows reasonably balanced stars, but disappoints in the nebula (Ha  is rendered as red, and OII as blue/green). Acquird in Voyager and processed in Pixisnight.

[I have uploaded a higher contrast version here, since the original posting]
