About this image

If you lived on a planet orbiting a star in M33, this object would be your equivalent of our Milky Way’s M42 – the Great Orion Nebula. Only NGC 604 is 40 x larger and 6000x more luminous. This image compares 20 x 120s RGB colour (on left) with 10 x 120s L-Pro + 10 x 120s L-Enhance filters (on right). Central cropped and enlarged image shows bright H Alpha clouds in NGC 604 lit up by 200 young hot stars.
