About this image

This faint and elusive irregular galaxy in Cassiopeia, was discovered by Lewis Swift in 1887. It is a member of the Local Group.

Diameter c.12,400ly.  Distance c.2.6million ly. Apparent mag. 10.4.

Bortle 7/8, extensive high cloud, Moon waning gibbous 85%, 18 days old.

Especially good considering the sky conditions.

Be nice to see what you can do with a clear sky at new moon (and perhaps travel to a better Bortle sky).
