Comet C/2022 P1 NEOWISE on 2022 Sep 24 at 10:45UT. Using a C11 RASA f/2.2 + Canon 6D. 5 mins. FOV 1 deg. North up, from Swan Hill, Victoria. The comet is closest to Earth today, on Sep 25th, at a distance of 0.85AU. Visual estimate on Sep 24 at 13:30UT using 25x100mm binoculars m1 = 10.0, with a large but very diffuse coma 10' wide, DC2. Requires high altitude and dark skies to see. Coma shows enhancement when using a Swan Band filter. Coma in this image appears 12' wide when stretched.
