About this image

A COAST (COmpletely Autonomous Survey Telescope) image of the spiral galaxy NGC772 with the dwarf elliptical galaxy NGC770 a little below and to the right. The two are possibly interacting, accounting for the extended arm of the spiral, just visible in this dim image (NGC772 apparent mag. 10.3: NGC770 apparent mag. 13.9). The image has been degraded at lower right by what could be moisture on the optics of the COAST, but I have uploaded the image anyway as I could find no other optical images of this cluster in the BAA image library.

Update: the COAST's minders say that the problem is not moisture but dust on the optics, which cannot be immediately removed.
