About this image

First ever hi-resolution HaOIII image of Abell 56
Abell 56 is 206 arc seconds planetary nebula in Aquila.  Until recent;y it was thought that Abell 56 only had Ha emissions.  That changed recently when Yann Sty's amazing wide field image showed a presence of OIII https://www.astrobin.com/full/6bblb5/F/
Thanks to Marcel Drechsler for bringing this to our attention.
So Sven Eklund and I set about capturing some 10 hours of OIII data. The signal is quite faint, and shows no detailed morphology, other than a ring shape sitting at the heart of Abell 56.
Data Capture: Sven Eklund and Peter Goodhew
Data calibration and integration: Sven Eklund
Image processing: Peter Goodhew
Data captured between 10 September - 17 October 2022.
A total of 30 hours 15 minutes (HaOIIIRGB)
