About this image

NGC7752 NGC7753 (Arp86) are a pair of interacting galaxies in Pegasus at a distance of c.220-225million ly.

The larger and brighter galaxy (NGC7753) is a barred spiral, and was discovered by William Herschel in September 1784. Diameter c.230-235,000ly, apparent mag. 12.0.

NGC7752 is a lenticular galaxy discovered in November 1854 by R.J.Mitchell. It is linked to NGC7752 by one of that galaxy's spiral arms, though that is not visible in this image. Diameter c.55-60,000ly. Apparent mag. 14.3.

Bortle 7/8, extensive high cloud, Moon waxing gibbous, 99%, 14 days old.
