Title
Spectroheliogram in Hydrogen alpha 19/10/22
About this image
DIY Spectroheliograph using 75mm focal length enlarger lens as collimator with 25um slit,30mm dia binocular objective of 120mm focal length as camera lens and 25x25mm 2400l/mm holographic grating. Using with 72ED full disk is not attainable so two scans were recorded, one for each hemisphere, and after reconstruction of images in MAIN-SER Ver 3.6.2 I used Microsoft ICE to stitch the two parts together and carried out slight processing in Astrosurface.

Hi Alun,
That's really impressive! If you have some pictures of the equipment you could share that would be very interesting. Sounds like you let the image of the Sun drift across the slit and synthesis the image that way?
Mike.
Yes, great work Alun. Well done.
Hi Mike,Gerard
Thank you both, will put together some photos of the SHG and post. Sorry Mike I forgot to mention that the scan across the Sun is forced by my using between x8 to x16 speed rates in RA on the CEM60 and the reconstruction software builds the image. This image is a single scan (no stacking) to which I have added a very slight sharpening and adjustment of gamma and brightness levels.
