About this image

This galaxy was discovered by Guillaume Bigurdan in October 1885 using the Paris Observatory's 12.4" refractor. This small (0.30' x 0.20') faint (apparent mag. 15.7) spiral galaxy in Pisces is at the limit of the Unistellar's capability even under 'medium' transparency skies and after 66min exposure, hence barely visible in this image. However, a brighter central area can be seen surrounded by a faint halo which, under extreme cropping, shows some signs of structure, possibly a face-on spiral.

Bortle 7/8. Moon waning gibbous 73%, 20 days old. Light cloud.

Nice to see observers pushing their kit and abilities to the limit!
