About this image

Canopus features a lot in Arabic culture and poems, called Suhail. Not to be confused with another 2.2mag star of the same name, it was a historical mistake when some stars were named.

This photo was taken a few days ago from Adar village in southern Morocco. You can see Sirius upper left and part of Orion at the top.
