Target name

96P Machholz

Title

Comet located very low in the local sky (~16 deg). Moon was setting (phase 0.75) as I started to image the comet in the evening twilight. I couldn't detect coma and 96P/Machholz looks as an asteroidal object with no activity. I found the comet exactly where MPC generated ephemerides predicted. Comet 96P/Machholz 2022 Dec. 03.05 UT m2=18.1:... [T71] 500 mm f/2.8 Takahashi Epsilon + CMOS... T. Prystavski (iTelescope observatory (remotely from Rio Hurtado Valley, Chile))
