About this image
Very pleased with this image of Mars, taken from the Scottish Highlands last night - currently a mere 54 million miles (87 million km) away from us & just past Oppostion (so it’s very bright & almost full phase).
It had been cloudy during the 'big thaw' all day and, after a half hour rain shower, the skies cleared and, most importantly, were very steady enabling me to fire up the imaging kit in my observatory and run off a few video clips.
Of course, instead of going to bed and getting some well-needed sleep I couldn't resist staying up until 3am processing the data to get this result - lol!

Eric, I think you are the ‘farthest north’ UK Mars observer this year, as Nansen would have put it. So well done for capturing many features, including the persistent dark feature connecting Mare Acidalium to Oxia Palus.
I would like to just say please do not forget to send your work to the Mars Section... too many observers take nice images, post them online, but fail to contribute them to a Section. Section email addresses are all in the inside rear cover of the Journal.
