About this image

I was observing M76 to tick it off the list of Messier objects I have seen and sketched and I thought I'd try to capture it with my DSLR too. It was quite easy to capture with a single long exposure but to get a good image I had to use several short exposures. I use a SCT on an alt-az mount so long exposure astrophotography is a bit tricky. I was pleased with how bright M76 appeared after stacking and it really does look like its larger namesake, M27. I used a Canon 250D DSLR attached to a Celestron NexStar 6SE scope for this shot. It was stacked with DeepSkyStacker and processed with FastStone Image Viewer and Photoshop.
