About this image

This is the first time I've observed this galaxy. I captured the data over two nights at the end of January and was plagued with condensation on the optics and spider webs in the telescope, giving spurious diffraction spikes. Several hours of work were needed to clean up the data.

The new workflow and software (Astro Pixel Processor, Pixinsight with Gaia spectral colour calibration and BlurXterminator) yielded pleasing results. This is a crop of the original image.
