About this image

30th January 2023. The comet is moving quite quickly through Camelopardalis, and, from my perception, the ion tail is fainter.

To minimise the blurring of the comet head, I reduced exposures to 30s and shot 40 exposures.

Subs were calibrated in APP and processed in Pixinsight. Each sub was separated into stars and comet images using StarXterminator. The stars and comet subs were then separately aligned using Comet-alignment and Star-alignment and finally recombined using Pixelmath.

I can perceive the ion tail. Also, I can also perceive the dust the comet has left behind; the sky to the right of the tail - where the tail has been in the past  - is a different colour from that to the left of the tail.
