About this image

NGC 2146 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Camelopardalis.  It is heavily distorted by gravitational forces from nearby galaxies. It is about 80,000 light-years from end to end, and is slightly smaller than the Milky Way. It lies approximately 70 million light-years from Earth.
