About this image

Easy object under bright moon conditions.

M3 is always a treat. Galaxy NGC5263 is also visible top right of this image.

Minimal post processing, A defect map subtraction and a single flat

M3 is some 85 light years across but with an estimated 500,000 stars within the spherical cluster. Just imagine what the sky would look like if standing on an exoplanet around any of these stars.

Globular clusters have star populations dating back to the earliest period in the galaxy and universe.
