Hi James,

Nice spectrum. From your description it looks like you're using a GRISM system?  If you have more details I would be interested to know how it's constructed; dimensions and spacings for example.

I used the 3.8 degree prism from Paton Hawkesley (q.v.) primarily because it centres up the spectrum; I placed it in front of the grating. I am not sure what other benefits it provides with the limited resolution provided by my equipment. btw envious of the wide field images taken with objective prism.

You may know about this already but there is a nice GRISM spectrograph on the 0.5M University of Iowa telescope based in Arizona. See: grism-ajp-jan03.pdf (uiowa.edu)

Yes, the prism is nice to use and it makes finding things really easy.
