JUICE at 7million km

About this image

On 10 May Nick James posted that JUICE was now much brighter than might be expected at ~ mag 18. On May 15 I had a go, not knowing if it was still that bright. It is not visible in individual 60second exposures but can be seen in a 20minute stack. I was surprised and delighted that I was able to record a man-made object so far away, far exceeding the 1.7millionkm for JWST

What I find amazing is that JUICE is visible from so far away - more than 7 million km! Perhaps 85 square metres of solar panels helps!
