Venus nighside 4th June 2023

About this image

My first image this apparition of the nightside of Venus, which is possible now phase has shrunk to ~50%. Visible as a fainter half poking out from the much brighter dayside. This is IR light eminating from the surface of the planet and visible because the Venusian atmospher is transparent at these wavelengths. 444mm Dob +Uranus C camera & 1010nm/38nm Pixelteq IR filter. Best 80% of 10mins of video @ f4.4.

Note of 6/69/23. Added in more data to image and image which is now best 80% of 16mins of video

More to come over coming weeks.
