About this image

5 hours 2 minutes total exposure over 13th - 23rd May 2023 from two locations Cheddar and Uckfield.

M81 is also known as Bode's Galaxy,  M82 was also discovered by Bode. M82 is a starburst galaxy with a vast star-forming region in it's core. 

UGC5336 an 14tm Mag irregular galaxy, just above M81 in the image.

Intergalactic cirrus is gas and dust between galaxies often left as a result of galactic mergers, it's study can be used to provide insights in the past history of galaxies.
