About this image

Used zoom on camera to approximate view as seen in 7-10X binoculars; crescent phase now just large enough to be visible. Located using current altaz data provided by computer. Helped by deep blue sky with passing white cumulus acting as "markers". Note that for safety stood in shadow of house; OK when Venus behind (east of) Sun - extra care when other way round as Sun could emerge!
