About this image

This is the best I could do this morning to get an image of this newly discovered comet. The sky was hazy and far too bright by the time the comet cleared my house roof in nautical twilight. I need to clean my filters and camera and re-do my flats.

This comet was discovered by Nishimura (see CBET 5285) on August 12 low in the morning twilight. It is currently in Gemini and it is brightening as it approaches the Earth but it will remain at a small elongation.

Good to see this Nick. I am hoping to capture it Sunday and/or Monday morning - determined by the weather, of course.
