About this image

This globular cluster GCL107 is usually misidentified as NGC6749, the latter being a nearby scattering of stars. See the entries for these objects in Seligman's Celestial Atlas (https://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc67.htm#6749).

This image shows the cluster's rather loose and asymmetrical structure, an interesting object.

Distance c.25-26,000ly. Diameter c.40ly. Apparent magnitude 10.8.

Bortle 7/8.
