About this image

The galaxies are:

NGC 6926 (centre) is a mag. 12 spiral galaxy, discovered by William Herschel in July 1784. Distance c.275million ly. Diameter c.150,000ly.

It appears tilted to the line of sight along a perpendicular axis. Two arms can be seen emanating from the nucleus with a faint surrounding disk.

NGC 6929 (to left and a little below the above) is a mag. 13 lenticular galaxy. It was discovered by John Herschel in 1827. Distance c.290million ly. Diameter c.65,000ly.

It can be seen as a bright spot with faint surroundings.

PGC 64910 (extreme lower right) is a mag. 14 face-on barred spiral galaxy. Distance c.275million ly. Diameter c.135,000ly.

The image shows the nucleus and a faint, irregular disk.

Bortle 7/8, high cloud.
